We support people that experience a range of difficulties and limitations, to improve their quality of lives and enable them to experience life to their full potential . We recognise that behaviours are a means of expression and communication. We recognise that each person we support is individual and will have their own method of communication. We work closely with the individual and their circle of care, to discover and develop their aspirations.

Our staff are highly trained to support individuals who present behaviours of concern and are supported by experienced management, PBS Practitioner and behaviour specialists. Kingsley Specialist Services embraces a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach to its care delivery. We are accredited to the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN), and are an affiliated organisation to B-Inspired Training – PBS Foundation ARC Entry Course.

Using our PBS approach we constantly review the individuals to ensure that the approach is working to achieve the best personalised outcomes. All PBS plans are live documents and provide a record of the individuals journey.

We support individuals to thrive, this includes supporting them to develop their skills and confidence in all areas of life. We use a number bespoke techniques and support methods and we also have special facilities such as “skills kitchens” to create an environment conducive to learning and development.

We support individuals to access education if they wish to. This can be done either independently if appropriate or with part or full support.

We have a thorough assessment process where we would be able to discuss the needs of the individual to ascertain whether we would be able to provide the appropriate support required dependent on the home that the individual is being referred to. However we can and do already support a great many people with a range of additional needs across our services.

The ethos of KSS is to enable the people we support to live as full a life as possible and we actively encourage community participation if his is what the individual wishes to do. We embrace a positive risk-taking philosophy and we believe that nothing should be a barrier to people, in achieving their dreams and ambitions.
